The best Android phone flagships are getting more storage space these days. But capacity is still at a premium on older devices and cheap phones. A large chunk of your phone's storage is already taken up by the operating system and preloaded software. After you start adding your own apps, shooting photos and videos and downloading podcasts, you risk running out of space.
Fortunately, a number of Android devices sport microSD card slots that allow you to expand your storage capacity by inserting an inexpensive memory card. You can grab a 32GB card for less than $10, while a 64GB card is about $12. A 128GB card costs $20 and a 256GB card $40.
The iPhone-to-Android path is pretty difficult, but if you have an Android app you'd like to use on Windows, you've got more options. While these programs are also likely to have some compatibility and performance problems, if you're really committed to running Android apps on Windows, they can help. 5+ Ways to Install Android Apps on Your Phone or Tablet Chris Hoffman @chrisbhoffman Updated July 11, 2017, 10:59pm EDT Google provides a primary app store for Android, known as Google Play.
Here's how to move apps to the microSD card using Android's built-in application management features.
What to Know About Adding Storage
First, not all Android devices allow you to install portions of an installed app to the microSD card, but for those that do, it’s just a quick trip to the application manager and a button press away. Most flagship phones have moved away from support for this feature; it is more commonly found in midrange to low-end hardware, but these are often devices that could use the extra storage.
Unfortunately, even if your smartphone supports the feature, not all apps do. Large apps such as games leave most of their data on the internal storage. For example, Asphalt 8 puts just 64MB of data on the microSD card while leaving the remaining 1.4GB to fill up your phone or tablet. That said, you can save some space this way, particularly if you have a lot of apps installed and move as many as possible to a microSD card.
Move Apps to SD Card Using Application Manager
1. Navigate to Settings on your phone. You can find the settings menu in the app drawer.
2. Tap Apps. C code optimization.
3. Select an app you want to move to the microSD card.
4. Tap Storage.
5. Tap Change if it’s there. If you don’t see the Change option, the app cannot be moved. If you are unable to find any apps with this option, it is likely that your device does not support the feature.
6. Tap Move.
If you wish to move an app back to the internal memory, hit the Change button again and select Internal Storage.
Use SD Card as Internal Storage
If your device does not support moving apps to a microSD card there’s another option, first introduced in Android Marshmallow, that may be the answer for you. This feature is called Adoptable or Flex Storage, and it allows you to format a microSD card to act like added internal storage. Again, not all devices with a microSD slot will support this feature: Motorola, Huawei and Nvidia have all chosen to enable Flex Storage, while Samsung and LG have removed it.
There are a few factors to consider before enabling this feature. You will want the fastest microSD card that you can find to ensure smooth performance, at least Class 10 or UHS-I and preferably UHS-3. Any data present on the microSD card will be erased when you format it as internal storage, and from that point, it will be unusable in other devices (unless you reformat it again). Finally, remember that if you remove this microSD card from your phone, you will break functionality to any apps or content you’ve moved to it.
1. Navigate to settings on your phone. You can find the settings menu in the app drawer.
2. Tap Storage.
3. Select your SD card.
4. Tap the overflow menu button in the upper-right corner.
5. Select Storage Settings.
6. Tap Format as Internal.
7. Tap Erase & Format. If the system determines that your microSD card is too slow it will prompt you with a warning here that it will degrade performance.
8. Tap Move now. After making the selection you will tap next and initiate the transfer to your microSD card. The system will indicate roughly how long the transfer will take and how much data will be moved to your SD card.
9. Tap Done.
Your SD card will now be listed immediately below the internal shared storage and the system will use it as additional internal storage in the future.

Very few people actually know that you can hide apps without the help of third-party software. By disabling any app from your device's settings, you can actually prevent it from appearing in the app drawer. Here's how.
Step 1: Go to device Settings and locate the Apps tab. This is where all the current apps on your phone will show up.
Step 2: From the available list, choose the app that you want to hide on your phone. Select it and, on the following screen, select the Disable option. The system will ask you a number of questions, agree with them to proceed.
Good for Preloaded Apps
While this method is quite seamless, it is only good for a preloaded app or bloatware. Also, any app that you disable using this method will be restored to the factory version and you might have to update it before you can start using it again.
If this does not provide an answer to your problem, we have two more way of hiding apps.
Hide Apps Using Apex Launcher
Apex Launcher is a popular third-party app that offers a number of customization options for your phone. You can use it to change the user interface on your device, but here we are using one of its features to hide apps in plain sight.
Step 1: The first thing to do here is to install Apex Launcher on your device. Upon completion, start the app and head over to the Settings tab.
Step 2: Once there, navigate to the Drawer settings option and locate the Hidden apps option.
Step 3: From the following screen, select the apps that you want to hide. In order to do so, select the checkbox right next to the app. When finished, simply click Save at the top-right corner of the screen.
Unhide the Apps to Use Again

Hide Using Privacy Hider
Privacy Hider is another free utility that you can use to hide any app on your phone. While it is free, it does show a lot of ads. If you don't like ads, you can opt for the paid version. The cool thing about Privacy Hider is that it masquerades itself as a calculator and works as one too. Unless you have the right password you cannot unlock it or see what's behind.
Step 1: Visit Google Play Store and install Privacy Hider on your device. After the installation, the app will start in its basic mode. You must set it up to hide apps.
Step 2: Once the app starts, head over to Setting at the upper-left corner of the screen. From the options, select Cover Privacy Hider. Once enabled, the calculator mask will come alive.

A Secure Vault
Privacy Hider creates a virtual space for apps and they stay in that secure space. Once you have hidden any app using the Privacy Hider, you can uninstall it from your device. In order to use the hidden app, simply go to the app masquerading as a calculator and enter your secret key.
Note: The free version of Privacy Hider only supports one app, you will have to buy the pro-version to hide multiple apps. How to Hide Any App on iPhone
While hiding apps on Android is easy and there are a lot of solution available for it, doing so on iPhone is a bit more cumbersome since there is no jailbreaking or hacking involved in this process. So, here is how to hide any app on iPhone.
Create a Folder for Apps
The first thing to do for hiding any app on iPhone is to create a folder. You can do it by moving one app over another and it will make a folder. You can rename it as Work or anything that would not draw a lot of attention.
You can not really hide apps on iOS, therefore, the best method is to bury that app under a lot of other apps. Add Apps to That Folder
The next step is really crucial. Start by adding apps to this folder. The number of apps you add to this folder, the better it is as people generally access one or two pages of any given folder. So, the key here is to add as many apps as you want. You can also add utilities to that folder if you do not have many apps installed on your phone.
After adding desired apps to that folder, move the app you want to hide to the very last position. Make sure you have to scroll through a number of pages before you can access that app.
Hide App From Spotlight
Once you've hidden an app from the app drawer, there is only one way left to find that app and that is through the Spotlight search.
In order to disable search through Spotlight, follow these steps.
- Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Siri and Search tab > Desired app.
- Step 3: From there, toggle the app that you want off to exclude from the search.
Conclusion
The steps and processes we have mentioned here are not the only solutions. These are the best options that we have used and are pretty confident that they will work for you as well. If you feel that there is a better way to do this, then we are listening, make sure to leave us a comment.
